Gelation Behavior of 5-Chloro-8-hydroxyquinoline, an Antituberculosis Agent in Aqueous Alcohol Solutions
It was shown that 5-chloro-8-hydroxyquinoline, an antituberculosis agent, gels aqueous alcohol solutions efficiently. Thermal stability and gel-to-sol transition temperature of 1% gel in CD₃OD/D₂O (2:1) was studied by ¹H-NMR. Fibrous structures of four xerogels have been characterized by scanning electron microscope.
متن کاملThermoreversible Gelation of Aqueous Methylcellulose Solutions
The thermoreversible gelation of methylcellulose in aqueous solution has been studied by static and dynamic light scattering (DLS), small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), and rheology. At 20 °C, dilute solution light scattering establishes the molecular weight, second virial coefficient, radius of gyration, and hydrodynamic radius of the polymer. Semidilute solutions exhibit two relaxation mode...
متن کاملAn Analytical Approach for Removal of Heavy Metals from Aqueous Solutions by Inorganic Basic Lead Molybdate Ion Exchanger 8-Hydroxyquinoline
The present paper deals with the synthesis, ion exchange properties and analytical applications of basic lead molybdate as a new inorganic ion-exchanger. A simplified synthesis and physicochemical properties which show that the chelating resin HQCR4 in H behaves as a weak cation exchanger. The results of rate of sorption experiments reveal that the rate of sorption is high during the initial pe...
متن کاملAggregation and gelation in hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose aqueous solutions.
In this work we present an analysis of the thermal behavior of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose aqueous solutions, from room temperature to higher temperatures, above gelation. We focus on significant aspects, essentially overlooked in previous work, such as the correlation between polymer hydrophobicity and rheological behavior, and the shear effect on thermal gelation. Micropolarity and aggregat...
متن کامل5-Chloro-8-hydroxyquinolinium nitrate
The 5-chloro-8-hydroxy-quinolinium cation in the the title ion pair, C(9)H(7)ClNO(+)·NO(3) (-), is approximately coplanar with the nitrate anion [dihedral angle = 16.1 (1)°]. Two ion pairs are hydrogen bonded (2 × O-H⋯O and 2 × N-H⋯O) about a center of inversion, generating an R(4) (4)(14) ring.
